Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 12:08PM Master Hutton (recently the guest presenter at Stripe 1 to 1) will be in Wellington on Tuesday 30 April to deliver a one-off seminar suitable for ALL grades. More details will be available soon but keep this date in mind now.
As it is a Tuesday we will make a call in the next couple of weeks as to whether our own club training will be cancelled that night or not.

Great opportunity to improve your breaking technique with tutelage from Master Rocky Rounthwaite & Mrs Trish Rounthwaite. This seminar is “compulsory” for all blue belts and above.
We’re supplying a breaking machine and Mr Lee would like some help shifting it to Porirua (1-2 Adults) please. Please let him know if you are able to help.

There is a FREE umpires course at the Khandallah club on the 4 August. If you want to officiate at Regionals you must attend this course. Please let Mr Lee know if you are planning on attending.

ALL our seniors are “required” to be involved in Regionals – either as officials or competing. If officiating you need to attend the umpires course on the 4th. We are supplying mats so will need some volunteers to help shift them on Friday evening, 10th Aug.

The once a year regional grading is planned for Saturday, August 25th and will be held at Cashmere Ave Primary School.
At this time our club has been assigned to the afternoon session starting at 1pm with a formal line up for all students grading. The grading is expected to take 3.5 hours so finishing at approximately 4:30pm. We’re not sure when our members will be required to demonstrate their knowledge to the examiner, so please be prepared to stay for the 3.5 hours.

Mr Shannon Ryan and Mr Scherezade Panthaki receive their black belt certificates from Mr Nick Lee.We had a great night out last week with a dinner at Pandan Asian Cuisine to present two of our members with their Black Belt Certificates, Scherezade Panthaki and Shannon Ryan. Scherezade is the club’s first student to gain his black belt under the instruction of Mr Nick Lee and Mr Shannon Ryan. Mr Ryan is one of our longest serving members and it’s a fantastic achievement to attain ones 3rd Degree.
We would all like to congratulate both Scherezade and Shannon for their achievements and hope to see many more of our students attain their black belt in years to come.

There are some great events coming up over the next few months. It’s an important part of your development and growth in Taekwon-Do that you do take advantage of these ITF sanctioned events and we strongly encourage our students to participate whenever possible.
Mr Pellow is a major influence in developing our Taekwon-Do self defence syllabus and this is a great opportunity to learn from Mr Pellow himself.
Venue: Miramar School Hall, Weka Street, Miramar
Date: Sunday, 29th April
Times: 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm
Morning session Colour Belt Syllabus, afternoon session Black Belt syllabus
Costs: Half Day: $25 individual, $45 family of two, $50 family of three or more. Full Day: $45 individual, $85 family of two, $90 family of three or more.

The next event coming up that you maybe interested in attending is the Central Districts Fuji Mae Round Robin Tournament in Palmerston North. This is a great opportunity to gain experience as you will get to compete against all competitors within your event, unlike normal knock out tournaments.
You will have the opportunity to compete in Sparring, Patterns and Power Technique (DISTRUCTION!).
If you are going to enter this tournament please let Mr Lee know as soon as possible so that he and the other instructors can help you prepare.
